Cheemalogy.....
Posted by JY
On Friday, June 19, 2009 at 11:30 PM
Hi everyone! Ready for some cheemalogy? :P I'm going to relate this closely to what Joy shared about her overcoming the fear of roller-coasters. :) Thanks Joy. You are in the FLOW! :P

Was just reading the site that Jilian linked us to. :) think it is written by her mum, and I felt that it is good. The audience that she is writing to, I'm not sure if it is meant for Believers or for the world. It does seem that in her wordings that she is writing it for ppl of the world, and not entirely for Believers.

Cheemalogy: We are a Spirit, possessing a Soul (mind + emotions), and living in a Body. Man is 3 parts. The Spirit-part was dead when Adam sinned, but the moment you received Christ, our Spirit-man is ALIVE again. And this is the part of us that is CONSTANTLY connected to Jesus. And it is the part of us that ALLOWS us to be BLESSED WHEREVER we go, in WHATEVER we do, and with WHOEVER we meet. :) It is something like a STATUS, a club MEMBERSHIP, that you have the RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES to.

But then, there is the Soul part of us, which are our thoughts, emotions and willpower, that through just daily normal living or learning from the wrong ppl and things in school or through TV or cyberspace gets negatively-influenced (from what you see and what you hear) everyday. And in this negative-influence, it does hamper our ability to receive from Jesus. It's like you are REALLY an EAGLE (Status), but if you think like a chicken and behave like a chicken (mind+emotions+actions), guess what. You really live life like a chicken lor. It'll just be awkward for you lah. And you'll be frustrated. You see other Eagles (like you) receiving and enjoying the fullness of life, and you wonder about your own and why you couldn't. That is sad...

The article that I read from Jilian's link is good, that it addresses your mind (your Soul). But the Truth remains this: you can be of the World and think only good and positive stuff, but your status remains that you are cursed and un-saved, and doomed for failure or maybe only a small measure of blessings; the other one is more for us: we can be SAVED (status), but if we only think negative and horrible stuff about ourselves and our lives, we can still get a small measure of blessings, but not the fullness that God wants you to have. That is the difference that we have with the World: they can think good and still fail because of their status; but for us, if we can really think GOOD, we will truly make it big in life because of our status, that we are already the Righteousness of God thats why Jesus will ensure that our lives become great! :)

In Joy's example, many of us think that the roller-coaster is scary, and that we can 'die' or be frightened. But Jesus already took away our curse and death, and if He had done it, will we need to be afraid of death? In truth, we don't need because our Spirit man is already saved in Christ. But because WE still THINK it is scary and that we cannot take it, guess what? we don't dare to take the ride, and thus we are robbed of the chance to enjoy something fun. But if you all are like Joy, who knows that she is a Child of God and she cannot die and then hop on the roller-coaster, you end up enjoying even more! That is true in almost anything: we limit God in our lives.

Therefore, learn to differentiate between what is 'good' in the eyes of the world, and what is 'good' in the Eyes of God. Good to the world means changing behaviour through your thoughts, which will still result in failure; good in God's Eyes means seeing Jesus, His Beauty and the Perfection of His Redemption in our lives so that our lives TRANSFORM effortlessly and supernaturally. Remember this, my dear ladies and gentlemen. I'm teaching you how to tell the difference between worldly advice and Godly advice. Do have a good read! :)

Ask me if you have questions on this! :) It'll blessed you if you read and understand!

Have a blessed night! :)

Julian

church camp experiences...

CAMP WAS AWESOME ;D

one thing that i brought home was to have FAITH in Jesus. through our problems and difficulties, through sad times and when we have flaws & weaknesses. reigning depends on GRACE, not on our circumstances.

we must not lose our patience and continue to trust in God for blessings and help.

faith is the key to blessings. we should not look back at what we are not good at or how bad we have been, but look to Jesus.

just like during camp, we dont do well in a game/get scolded by teammate(or anything else..) we become sad and lose our confidence for the next activity.. we should trust god for talents and favour :D

during camp, god blessed my fellowship with my DG mates =D we had fun together [and bunked together(for girls)]. haha ;D what i iked the best is the last day when we got to stay up ;DDDD
NO CURFEW! me(janice), joy, wilfred and julian stayed up the whole night and disturbed ppl in their sleep >< haha XD

Stuff I Learned in CAMP!!!.
Posted by Jil
On at 4:28 PM
Hi guys!Jil here!
N btw, Julian, who said my nickname was JILLY?!
Besides, my name has only 1 'L'.
But stll, that doesn't give u permission to call me that!!

Anyways, what i learned from camp...
Um... Don't blame me if this turns out horribly so...
Here I go:
Our 4 days n 3 nites camp was totally AWESOME!!(Obviously excluding the mud and soggy shoes)
But during the camp, I learned that not everything is a cup of tea, like in camp.
That was completely different from the struggles we face in real life,
n TOTALLY different from what Jesus had to go through.
Yet, its not the level of difficulty of our problems,
but how much we make use of these problems to, instead of allowing them to drag us down, we grab on tightly to pull ourselves up.
Coach Heejun once said:" He will take our MISTAKES, and make them PROSPER!"

I also made TONS of frens during camp,
n got to know those ppl I already knew better.
Angie is now my new Best Fren and always makes me laugh at unexpected occasions.

My FAVE activity was...
Well, I don't really know but I enjoyed them all!
I actually learned lots more things,
but I think I would make ya'll fall asleep.

So... BYE!!!
for now...

See ya!

Point to Ponder (b4 movie this Sat).
Posted by JY
On at 8:27 AM
Hi Everyone! :)

Think it is amazing how God works. Had a vision for all of you during camp, which was affirmed at camp and at service when God through Pastor Prince and Pastor Benjamin spoke about allowing Jesus to be our source of strength. :)

Recall 2 Cor 12:9-10. This is my meditation verse now.
"My Grace (dunamis) is more than sufficient for you for My Strength (dunamis) is made PERFECT in weakness (us)." MOST GLADLY therefore will I glory in my weaknesses so that the POWER (dunamis) of Christ may REST upon me.

Notice the few words that translates to dunamis in the Greek. Dunamis means 'dynamite power', the same power that God used to create the world! The same power that raised the dead to life, that healed ANY disease from AIDS / cancer to the common flu, the same power that cause the poor to become EXCEEDINGLY and ABUNDANTLY RICH (more than Warren Buffett, US$400,000,000,000), that can cause dead situations to come alive and become super-blessed, that can turn around results from F9's to A1's, that can turn a CCA group/club into a place of super-blessing and fellowship...

Think of all these. We definitely WANT to have the POWER right? :) any man/woman who has resolved to want the best in their lives, WANT this POWER. :)

The meditation WORD for all of you is this: in that verse above, notice I capped and bolded 'REST'? I want you all to think about what it means to REST, so that Christ Power can remain in your lives. :)

I will share what the Lord put in my heart for our DG this Sat after we have done this. :)

Have a blessed time meditating while you study!

What I learned from Camp..
Posted by Angie
On at 5:02 PM
Hey ya!

One of the many things i learned from camp was that trusting in your teamates and being able to forgive them is very important in a DG. In all the games and especially during the Nightwalk, all of us had to trust one another to do his/her best, which was why we were able to work so well together.
We all walked so fast during the Nightwalk and had no hiccups along the journey as we relayed messages quickly but mainly because all of us had faith that the others would not lead us into danger, thus we had the courage to walk fast, not slow and timidly.
Also, during the the camp every one of us made mistakes or screwed up somewhere or another. Be it during the games or saying or doing something that was offensive to our friends. All these were opportunities to extend grace and forgive each other. Which i learned was not easy!
Another main thing i learned was how important it is to not give up. Every time we faced problems, (we faced a lot of problems) we had to have faith and see the end result, not how impossible the problem was. All of us, at different points in time, were almost ready to give up, and i'm glad that Extreme/Ulong always encouraged each other to never give up. i think that played a major part in us making it through the camp alive.
In a nutshell, i am positive that Extreme/Ulong has grown even closer and more united through this camp. i'm sure we will all continue to grow, i feel excited just thinking of what we can all do together in the future. :P

Anyway, i learned to trust in God cos' He will always guide you and He will never forsake wherever you are.(ahem ahem lost in the forest haha)

Yea so I mostly about putting our trust in God.

Oh and I haven't done my holiday homework yet right, so I prayed that God will help me to complete it without straying from homework (to FB i guess) and He helped me complete my 作文 quite easily.

YAY :P

p.s. & I believe that he will do the same for my other homework!

hellos. ughh..
i dont know what to write...

okay. i think i got an idea..
you guys remember when we were at the night walk thingy?

yeah well, so i think we were great.
coach said we walked very fast.
i think we really trusted each other[especially the one in front] and just followed where each other was taking us.
the key to friendship is trust isnt it[well, one of the keys tho]
i mean, when my hands were on the person infront of me
i could feel that he/she was walking really fast, sometimes i even could lose catch of him/her..
at the start, we were taking it kinda slow
but in the middle, we were practically jogging!
others at the back even kept asking the ones in front to slow down..
yeah, so, we really bonded in this awesome camp.

i got no idea what to write liaos. i dunno if this post is complete but can right?
uh. byebye:D

with christ all things is posible, we could win so many games and for the boys we could sleep in the tents i learned that you don't need to know where you're goin u just need to know that you are being led by Jesus n that you know Jesus will surely bring you to the top by the path of righteousness without bein tired.

At the start of camp I did not wad were goin to do n if we could win or not but in the end we won. so i really believe that at the end of sec 4 we will be the spearhead.

Ohayo very awesome people who are reading this. :D (Derno, awesome's my new favourite vocabulary HAHA.) Still campsick ahhhh, and slightly post-camp high. (Becky, drunkkkk! :D) *w* Hahaha! 'nywayz, hmm since Julian asked us to share what we learnt from the camp....
1. Don't doubt yourself!
Remember the verse Julian gave us before camp? Philippians 4:13; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Remember during the tug of war we played on the 2nd day (I think)? Some of the guys (not pointing names) were asking "What if...", "But..." after Ju gave us the strategy... But in the end we still won, right? And by very very very far too, HAHAHA!

So... yeah, I guess the point is, don't "What if", don't doubt that you cannot do it. With Jesus who is our strength, what can we not do? Maybe by our own strength, no, it's definitely by our own strength that we cannot accomplish many things. But with Jesus, we can do all things! :D:D:D And see, he even blessed us with an awesome DGL that is an awesome strategist, no? :):):)
2. No matter what, you always have people behind you to support you - this awesome DG!
Hahaha, idk if you remember or not, but on the first day, when we were doing the tightrope thing (the mudslide? :D), I had an anxiety attack.... (Paiseh moment x4187516756.) Yeah I have this phobia of suspended stuff (eh originally I didn't want to take top bunk either; quite scary ok!) and when I had to wait for Bernice/Joy to finish the second rope before I could go, it was quite unnerving la.

But it was really cool seeing Julian down on the ground (okay, not the on the ground part bleh) cheering for me, hahaha thank you Coach! :D Uhm thanks also to Joy and Angela (if I remember correctly) and Bernice as well for asking if I was okay hahaha! Oh and the guys as well (Thaddeus, was it?). Hahaha! But yeah it really showed how supportive our DG family is, aye? And, at least for me, I can rest assured that no matter what I have this awesome DG to support me & back me up always. ♥

Uhmmmmm for the meantime I can't think of anything else, but if I do, I'll post it too hahaha! :):):) GO ULONG(CHA)~ OH & GO EXTREME/EOC TOO. :D

Sabrina ♥

PS: Yes I know I'm lorsuo, forgive moi can? :(
